Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The highlight at Rob's Plaice is the crispy batter, renowned for its perfect crunch and lightness, offering a sublime contrast to the succulent fish. Generous portion sizes mean that customers rarely leave hungry, which is a major plus for those seeking value. The welcoming atmosphere created by the friendly staff adds to the experience, making it feel like a local gathering spot. Many patrons also rave about the ‘scraps’ that come with every order, which are a delightful crispy byproduct that locals swear by. Great pricing at around £7 for a full meal leaves guests with a sense of satisfaction, making it an ideal choice for both casual dining and takeout.

Most Disliked

Some visitors might find the casual atmosphere too laid-back, especially if they are seeking fine dining or a more upscale experience. On busy evenings or weekends, wait times may extend, which could be frustrating for those in a hurry. A few diners have mentioned that the menu, while traditional, lacks variety compared to other eateries, focusing primarily on classic fish and chips. Additionally, during peak hours, the shop can get crowded, resulting in a bustling environment that may not be conducive to those seeking a quieter dining experience.

Popped into this fish and chip shop the other night and honestly, it was spot on! The fish was super fresh with that perfect crispy batter, and the chips were so good — exactly how they should be. The staff were lovely, really welcoming and up for a chat while I waited. You can tell they take pride in what they do — everything came out fresh, and the portions were generous (definitely didn’t leave hungry!). It’s got that proper local chippy feel — Definitely my new go-to for a Friday night treat!

Best fish and chips in Bingley. Usually fresh to order so there can be some waiting when it isn't peak time, but highly worth it.

Delicious fish and chips, freshly made. We had to wait a few minutes but I’m more than happy to wait. Chips quantity was good, I shared one with my wife and it was more than enough. Outdoor seating (1 bench) is small but nice if it’s sunny.
